Over the coming months we will roll through a new program of food buy back. This will be focusing all our efforts in improving the community atmosphere and making sure that at all times everybody in this community is fit and has proper health!
What does it mean to be properly healthy? It is hard to know, not everyone is properly healthy and even most people in the untied states of america suffer from degenerative diseases such as heart disease and high blood pressure.
What does this mean for the rest of us? When americans are put on comparisons with other countries in terms of their health the first thing that comes to mind is the diet. The american diet is known as a fast food diet, a diet that relies on a lot of sugar and lacks important nutritional aspects of a normal and healthy diet.
When people compare american or canadian diets they usually compare it to the healthiest diet which is the mediterranean diet. This diet is represented by a lot of olive oil instead of butter, eating more fish instead of red meat, and eating cleaner and more organic food especially vegetables. Thinking about the north american diet, there are few north american inspired dishes that naturally serve vegetables when we’re not considering salads.
Salads are the only time that north americans will eat any type of green vegetable. In europe there are a variety of starters that will have vegetables. In asia the depth of mixing some type of protein with a carb and vegetable is extremely extensive across a variety of asian cultures. This is something that as north americans we should look into more and be more aware.
Having a balanced diet is extremely beneficial to our health and the number one reason for your fitness to be in bad shape. Making sure that we take care of what we put in our body is extremely important. For that reason we dedicate so much time to making sure that all of our products are top of the line and that we can be proud of what we serve every day at coop.
